How to Determine the "Minimum" That Works on a Bad Day (with Examples)

Minimum is not "little." Minimum is "feasible."

The minimum is to work when:

  • you are tired,

  • you have less time,

  • you're having a bad day.

If the minimum only works on a good day, it is not the minimum.

3 tests minimum

Test 1: 2 minutes

If it can't be done in 2 minutes, then the minimum is too high.

Test 2: a bad day

Imagine a day with low energy.
Can you still do the minimum? If not, reduce it.

Test 3: No Negotiations

The minimum is to be so simple that you don't have to debate.

Examples of minimum (ready-made)

  • movement: 5 squats / 1 minute of stretching

  • reading: 1 page

  • work: 2 min "I open the project and take the first step"

  • tidiness: 2 minutes of cleaning one place

  • Finance: 1 min to check balance or expenses

Traps

  • minimum = "full workout" (too high)

  • minimum = "zero sense" (too small and doesn't create a path)

  • no signal (you don't know when you do it)
